I guess technically Cupid doesn’t “float”, he flies with his wings? Either way, these were a fun Valentine’s Day treat for the family. Unfortunately this year, we celebrated a little later than everyone else. Our house got plagued by some sort of virus that felt never ending. Luckily, we all pulled through somehow!

Cupid Floats

Lucky for me, before the plague struck I had already bought our Valentine’s fun so we weren’t completely out of luck.

Alright.

Let’s get to floating with Cupid!

You only need 2 ingredients to make these happen. (Amazing right?!) They are:

Ingredients:

-vanilla ice cream

-red soda

Step 1: thaw your ice cream 5-10 minutes so it’s easier to scoop. No need to dislocate your shoulder. We’re about self love too. I used these clear dessert cups I had on hand so you could “see” more of the float but whatever you have is fine. Now we’re going in ice cream first. Scoop in how much ice cream you want. I went with 1-2 scoops. We can always get refills if needed after all.

Step 2: add in your red soda. We are using code red here but this works with any red soda you can find. I’ve used strawberry in the past and it was amazing. Now, as you pour the soda, go slow. When the soda hits the ice cream it gets fizzy and bubbles up very fast and much larger than normal soda fizz when poured. Maybe it’s just as excited as we are to be partying.

Look at all of that fizz! So exciting.

Step 3: ENJOY! Your 2 ingredient cup o’ fun is complete. You have officially made a Cupid Float. Now sit back, and enjoy!

Let me know if you try this out. Did you make any changes? I’m thinking some sprinkles might be fun next time. Did you try it with a different soda? Let me know in the comments!
