Spring has officially sprung! FINALLY. I’m not much of a winter person. Despite seasonal allergies being in full swing, I would take this weather all day every day if it meant no more snow and ice! Everything is starting to turn green, buds are sprouting, the smell of pollen wafts in the air. Achoo! It’s glorious.

Back to the green stuff. How can you not be excited and hopeful as you see nature coming back to life?! Beautiful. Absolutely amazing.

Today was a little bit windy, which is why my gaze shifted downward as I walked in the growing grass. I looked down and happened to be standing in a patch of clover. We have clover all over our yard. Always have. It’s why we have so many wild rabbits around. They LOVE clover. If you’ve seen Bambi, you’ve heard Thumper rave about how much bunnies like clover. We even have some baby bunnies nesting in our yard this year. They’re adorable!

While looking at the clover, I started to think back to my childhood and hunting for four leaf clovers. It made me think: what is so special about a four leaf clover? My whole life I’ve just “known” they are special, but when you break down the science of it, it’s actually an oopsie in nature. So we consider this oops lucky? Why? Hmm…is it just because they’re so rare? One of a kind?

Then I started thinking, what if God is looking down on me like a four leaf clover? All of the things that I see as flaws, He sees as something truly special. If we can decide that something different in nature makes something extra special…lucky even, why can’t we also see ourselves the way God sees us? We are created in His image. In a field of clover, He would still choose to pick you. Being different and unique are gifts that make you who you are. They are what set you apart and make you the four leaf clover in a field full of three leaf clover. You are special, unique, and one of a kind!

A rabbit would never care how many leaves were on the clover, it would eat it anyway before having a second thought. But God always knows how special you are.
